It appears everybody is talking about New Orleans and Katrina, so I thought that I do not want to be left behind and also add my 37 cents (yup, it's more than 2).
Radio show host David Champion of American Radio Show thinks that the government - our government that is, if you are in the US of A - is getting its report card.
And I believe he is right on the money.
For several years now we have given up so many of our rights - some willingly, some not so willingly - but we all did - for the promise of protection from all the evil out there in the world.
The threats we were made afraid of have been nuclear, chemical and biological. And surely after investing so much of our liberties and resources we could expect some improvement of out protection, right?
Apparently the one evil - weather - with this rather benign biological weapon - standing water - was way to much for just that preparedness, because there did not seem to be any improvement in response to this terrorist act - more the opposite, by putting the gigantic additional bureaucracy called homeland security (does 'homeland' also always reminds you of 'fatherland', or is is just me?) on all lines of communication and approval, things got even slower.
Volunteers were at the scene to help way before the honchos with the say.
I might sound heart-less but I love it. It's hard for the people directly involved and effected, but in the long run, this is the only way, that all these voters who believed the propaganda, might actually be able to open their eyes (and noses) and smell the rat.
