Many years ago Max (then Joachim) and I were many years younger; and there was the spirit to hunt down the real bad guy.

The bad guy was ... I, who had just left the - you know what - organization. Max was bad too, but not quite so.

So we thought that if Max could show some proof that he in fact had ridded the world of a REAL bad guy he could gain some plus-points, right?

So - here finally the proof - first time published!

Would this not be a great addition to the picture section of the Volunteers Ministers Handbook?

Oh too funny! Wait'll Max sees this on your blog! Hmmm... sorta looks familiar. Mt Lowe above Pasadena? Naw... how the hell could you get a rifle up there, the hikers would freak out. So where was that taken?
cheers

That was on a trip up to lake Isabella, then over to Death Valley and then back. It must have happened somewhere over in the mountains above lake Isabella.

This is a MUST for this valuable book. thanks for the great contribution.. I was alrady worried back then that this photo may reappear some time in the future.. it was justified... and all of it...
all I have to find now is a way to put Ed's video shooting at some imaginary rabbits in the Mohave desert.. remember, when Zen turned on all the lights of the truck, battery dead, and no cellular reception??? hehehe... just got find it..

does anyone know the difference between a rabbit and a squirrel?
(or was it quailes, Ed?)

Rabbits, though to be precise a jackrabbit is a hare.

Picture was taken on the trail above Haines canyon, maybe a half mile or so from your house, Max!

Yeah, seen that. And to get there I had to fiddle quite a bit with my yahoo settings as I forgot my login info for that group - but now I have that also in my general purpose yahoo login.

It is for me still so surprising how close to our houses the real back country starts - not used to something like that from Germany - everything is cultivated there.
